Updated New Edition Metro Tucson Street Atlas Now Available

PHOENIX - There were many changes and updates made to the Tucson Metropolitan Street Atlas this year - new subdivisions, new and/or changed streets, new schools, new areas annexed by cities, as well as changes to school locations, government facilities, libraries, shopping centers and parks.

The 2003 Tucson Metropolitan Street Atlas , produced by Wide World of Maps of Phoenix, with its familiar bright yellow cover, is used by tens of thousands of drivers in the Tucson area. Emergency personnel, delivery drivers, taxi drivers, and local businessmen have relied on the atlas for 28 years to help them navigate around the 2,000 square miles of metro Tucson, Marana, Oro Valley, South Tucson, Green Valley, Sahuarita, Catalina and other area communities.

This newest 2003 edition includes the latest annexations of Tucson and Marana as these cities continue to grow. Also shown is the new Ironwood Forest National Monument. The atlas contains a comprehensive alphabetical street index that lists the location and map reference to more than 10,000 streets. Users will be happy to find an easy-to-read zip code map and enlarged, detailed maps of Tucson International Airport (with current airline information) and the University of Arizona campus. A large 17"x 22" full-color foldout map showing major streets is included as a special bonus.

The accuracy of the 2003 Tucson Metropolitan Street Atlas is a source of pride to Wide World of Maps and it's users. While the primary information comes from such official sources as the Pima County Recorder's office, various city planning, zoning, and parks and recreation offices, school districts and aerial photos, some of the best information comes from users. In the back of each copy of the Yellow One, are Suggestion and Comment cards. Cartographer Eric Boysen, explains that 100 to 150 cards are received every year from atlas users recommending changes and updates. "I'm glad our customers tell me about errors and changes. They may point out that a street that was planned as being a through street is actually a cul-de-sac, or a street name proposed by a developer was changed to conform with a city's addressing regulations. We welcome that information, research it, and when needed make the change to our map artwork and databases." Because of that attention to detail, area drivers realize that having the latest edition of the Tucson Metropolitan Street Atlas is as important as a regular oil change.

The 2003 Tucson Metropolitan Street Atlas is available now for $18.95 at map stores, office supply stores, bookstores and blueprint shops. Ask for the new "Yellow One" street atlas wherever maps are sold. Wide World of Maps' stores are located at 2626 West Indian School Road in Phoenix and 1444 West Southern Avenue in Mesa.
