Jack lives on a dusty patch of land in the Arizona desert with his ma, Annie Oakey Dokey. They're so poor they don't have anything worth selling but a milk cow named Fred. When Jack trades Fred for some magic beans, a giant stalk grows outside his bedroom window. It turns out to be the perfect chance to earn a lollapaloozer of a reward, if only he can escape the clutches of the giant cattle rustler, Wild Bill Hiccup.
