Rio Grande Southern 2008 Monthly Wall Calendar
Established in 1890 to serve the silver-mining towns in Colorado's San Juan Mountains, the Rio Grande Southern traveled 163 difficult miles between Ridgway and Durango on narrow gauge track. By 1929, the line began replacing steam engines with Galloping Geese, a truck-bus hybrid built to run on narrow gauge tracks.
