ITMB is very pleased to announce the release of this long-awaited map. This is actually a brand-new map, not an update, being the latest ITMB map to be created from highly-detailed GIS downloaded files and satellite imagery. It is also the first version of this attractive country to have been produced in-house. It looks lovely. It is printed on durable ITM plastic paper for strength as well as waterproofing. The roads and place names are easy to read; they have been able to improve the scale and, thanks to their ground-truthing expedition to both north and south islands, is loaded with pertinent information for users.
The map features a complete place names index and several color photographs. Inset maps cover Kermades Islands, Auckland Island, Chatham Island, Bounty Island, Antipodes Island, Campbell Island, central Auckland, and central Wellington.
The national legend includes: provincial borders; motorways with road numbers, major roads with point-to-point distances in kilometers, untarred major roads, main roads or tunnels, secondary roads, untarred secondary roads, other roads, untarred other roads, paths, and walking trails; ferry routes; railways; communities by population; hypsographic and spot elevation in meters; bathymetric depths in meters; rivers, lakes, swamps, glaciers, lighthouses, beaches, fishing, surfing, skiing, hot springs, waterfalls, and harbors; national and maritime parks; airports and airfields; viewpoints and points of interest; churches; caves, moutains, passes, and mines; campsites and caravan sites; museums; and golf courses.
The city inset legend includes: highways, major streets or roads, secondary streets or roads, and other streets or roads; railways; park or gardens and cemeteries; important and industrial buildings; railway and bus stations; parking; shopping centers; hospitals; post offices; libraries, theatres, and museums or art galleries; police stations; accommodations; cathedrals, churches, or chapels; cinemas; broadcast tower; tourist information; schools and colleges or universities; and other points of interest.
