Phoenix Valley of the Sun Street Guide

$ 6.95

Long before high-tech navigation solutions were invented, folks used a simple street guide book that is still popular today. This vintage edition of Phoenix - Valley of the Sun Street Guide, published by Wide World of Maps, is now available. A large following of local users buy them for a low-tech and low-cost option to help navigate streets and freeways in Phoenix and the Valley of the Sun. More than half-a-million books have been sold since its introduction in 1975.

This small-format guide finds its way into the glove boxes and onto the dashboards of taxis, shuttles, delivery and construction vehicles, tow trucks, trash trucks, repair and service trucks, and even police cars. It's small enough to fit in a pocket, so real estate and insurance agents like them, as do traveling salespeople. Folks with the latest high-tech gadgets still buy them as a handy quicker reference to street and address locations. For the low price of $2.95, it makes a good back up to have in every vehicle.

The 94-page book was completely updated and expanded to include all 25 cities and towns that made up the Valley of the Sun in the late 1980s. It lists streets alphabetically, shows which city/cities the street is in, and the block number alignment of the street. The easy-to-follow instructions and helpful fold-out major (arterial) street maps in the back of the book show how the addressing systems work in finding the location of streets and addresses.

Coverage includes: Ahwatukee, Avondale, Carefree, Cashion, Cave Creek, Chandler, El Mirage, Fountain Hills, Gilbert, Glendale, Goodyear, Guadalupe, Litchfield Park, Mesa, Paradise Valley, Peoria, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Sun City, Sun City West, Surprise, Tempe, Tolleson, and Youngtown.
