Geologic Map of Arizona, Laminated

This Geologic Map of Arizona, Laminated shows the various types of rocks and sediment on the Earth's surface within the State of Arizona. It is color-coded to show the different rock types and ages. The map is 39"×27".

AZGS Map 35 was compiled by authors S. M. Richard, S. J. Reynolds, J. E. Spencer, and P. A. Pearthree. This is the 4th and latest compilation of the Geologic Map of Arizona published in 2000 at 1:1,000,000 map scale. It added detail and made changes to a few areas where rock ages or fault locations had become better known. Unlike previous maps, the 2000 map was compiled digitally, used shading instead of contours for topography, distinguished Quarternary for older, inactive faults, and included depth-to-bedrock contours for Cenozoic basins.

The map is encapsulated in heavy-duty 1.7 mil laminate which makes the paper much more durable and resistant to the swelling and shrinking caused by changes in humidity. Laminated maps can be framed without the need for glass, so the frames can be much lighter and less expensive.
