The Trinity Alps Wilderness is located in northwestern California west of Redding and east of Eureka. The Trinity Alps includes the headwaters of the Trinity and Salmon rivers and is one of the largest parcels of backcountry land in the state growing to just over 515,000 acres.
The Trinity Alps mountains include high, rough ridges with peaks ranging from 7,000 to 9,000 feet in elevation, deep glacial canyons, and spectacular mountain meadows.
The Trinity Alps Wilderness takes in portions of three National Forests: Shasta-Trinity, Klamath, and Six Rivers.
