A Guide to Prescott and Central Highlands Trails
A Guide to Prescott and Central Highlands Trails by Ron Smith is a detailed and authoritive guide to over 95 non-motorized trails in the Prescott and central highlands region of Arizona.
Whether you are six or sixty, a day hiker or experienced backpacker, this guide should have something for you. If nothing else, it will open your eyes to the diversity of landscapes, geology, vegetation, and wildlife of this still uncrowded mountain region.
Most of the trails described prohibit motorized use. This is a guide for hikers, horseback riders, and bicyclists. These are primarily day hikes, each of which has been explored by the author. Many of the interconnected trails are also suitable for more extensive backpacking trips.
The author has updated this popular guide with some newly developed trails and provided new information about trails that were affected by the removal of trees killed by the 2003 bark beetle infestation.
The guide includes:
* Topographic trail maps with color highlighted trails
* Trail length, difficulty, and uses permitted
* Elevation profiles
* Detailed trail notes
* GPS trailhead locations
