Hunt Unit 5B North offers a variety of habitats from the high mountain ponderosa pine forest, to the rolling hills of the pinyon-juniper belts, stretching into the grasslands.

This highly sought-after unit lies mostly within the Coconino National Forest with areas of state land and pockets of private land. The region of 5B North is famed offering trophy big game hunting for elk, mule deer, pronghorn antelope and bison and also offers good hunting for black bear, mountain lion, and turkey. Additionally, there are also great opportunities for small game such as bobcat, coyote, fox, cottontail rabbit, squirrel and more.
