Antelope Canyon, located within the Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona, is a steep slot canyon. As occasional beams of sunlight penetrate the narrow, dimly lit canyon from above, the twisted, swirling ribbons of the slot canyon walls glow in wondrous luminous shades of red and orange.

Lake Powell, the second largest reservoir in the USA, lies within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Scenes from the water and from the air highlight the stark contrast of the deep blue water against the barren, yet colorful mesas and buttes surrounding this unique and intriguing man-made lake.
