From Covelo travel east to explore the forest including Eel River area, north to Yolla Bolly- Middle Eel Wilderness boundary with camping and hiking trailhead access into the wilderness. Explore the M 1 forest road which heads south to Lake Pillsbury and beyond to Upper Lake/Clear Lake. Opportunities for camping, boating, fishing, and hiking at the lake. From Upper Lake travel north to the Upper Lake OHV Area with three trails open for ATV's, motorcycles, and jeeps/4WD's; camping permitted. West of Stonyford is a popular area for OHV enthusiasts. Many miles of OHV trails for ATV's, motorcycles, jeeps/4WD's lead to many campgrounds and trailheads in the area.
